My two fave drummers of all time are Buddy Rich and Neil Peart.

it's not world-class drumming, because that'd be like saying there's other drumming like it in the world. I don't know what it is, but like all the wonders of music, Buddy makes the instrument his very own just by playing it like he plays it. Dave Grohl, you can tell. Travis Barker, you can tell. just by hearing. even though they're simple beats, you can just _tell_ how the drums are being repeatedly hit. but then there's Buddy Rich and it's just that same thing, only the notes are always triplicated in how you'd expect them and yeah. it's beyond.
